Beauvericin is a cyclic depsipeptide isolated from several fungal genera, notably Beauveria and Fusarium, first reported in 1969. Beauvericin exhibits broad antifungal, antibacterial, antiprotozoan and insecticidal activities. At the molecular level, beauvericin has been shown to exhibit ionophoric properties and inhibits acyl- CoA	cholesterol acyltransferase activity. Beauvericin induces apoptosis by elevating intracellular calcium levels.

Storage and Stability	Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
