| Betacellulin (BTC) is a widely expressed EGF-related polypeptide growth factor, proteolytically processed into a soluble mature form, which acts as a potent inducer of mitosis in vascular smooth muscle cells and retinal pigment epithelial cells. BTC signals through binding to the homodimeric ErbB-1 and ErbB-4 receptors, but also appears to uniquely bind to and activate all known heterodimeric ErbB receptors. | | | Catalog # | B1081-40H | | Source | Recombinant Betacellulin expressed in E.coli. | | Activity | The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine Balb/3T3 cells is 0.05ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 2x10e7units/mg. | | Applications | Suitable for use in Functional Assays.
