Mutations of the gene for BLM have previously been associated with Bloom's syndrome, a disorder characterized by growth deficiency, chromosomal instability, and a predisposition to various cancers. Studies have implicated the BLM protein, an enzyme with potential roles in DNA replication, recombination, and chromosome segregation.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionWestern Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000, detects a band at ~190kD.
Immunoprecipitation: 1 to 4 ul/mg of lysate.
Optimum dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
