| Mutations of the gene for BLM have previously been associated with Bloom's syndrome, a disorder characterized by growth deficiency, chromosomal instability, and a predisposition to various cancers. Studies have implicated the BLM protein, an enzyme with potential roles in DNA replication, recombination, and chromosome segregation. | | | Catalog # | B2163-02 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000, detects a band at ~190kD. | | Immunoprecipitation: 1 to 4 ul/mg of lysate. | | Optimum dilutions to be determined by researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7.5, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human Bloom Syndrome encoded within exon 2 (LocusLink ID 641). | | Specificity | Recognizes human BLM. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
