| BNF-1, also known as Chordin-Like 2, (CHRDL2), is a glycoprotein that negatively regulates cartilage formation by binding Activin A and BMPs and preventing interaction with their receptors. BNF1 contains three von Willebrand factor type C domains. Alternate splicing of mouse BNF1 generates intracellular as well as secreted variants. | | | Catalog # | B2188-02 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Tris-citrate/phosphate, pH 7 to 8 | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | The epitope recognized maps to a region between residues 200 and 250 of human breast tumor novel factor 1 using the numbering given in TrEMBL entry Q7Z5J3 (GeneID 25884). | | Specificity | Species Crossreactivity: Human. Other species have not been tested. Reactivity with mouse BNF1 is unlikely owing to divergence of sequence between this ortholog and human BNF1 at the site to which the epitope maps. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | BNF-1 |
