| Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) is a disulfide-bonded homodimeric protein with an apparent molecular weight of 26kD. BMP2 regulates similiarly to its nearest homologue BMP-4 diverse fundamental processes during embryonic development: BMP2 and other BMP proteins have great potential for medical therapeutic applications, in particular because they allow or at least accelerate the ossification of extensive bone lesions. BMP2 lacks the natural N-terminus which results in a 15-20 fold increase of specific activity. BMP2 is a heparin binding protein. | | | Catalog # | B2553-05 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 1.A.21 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 0.1M Tris HCl, pH 7.5. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Puri ed recombinant BMP-2. | | Specificity | Recognizes human bone morphogenetic protein (BMP2) using an ELISA format. | | | Important Note | This product is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications. |
