Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified E B N
Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) is a disulfide-bonded homodimeric protein with an apparent molecular weight of 26kD. BMP2 regulates similiarly to its nearest homologue BMP-4 diverse fundamental processes during embryonic development: BMP2 and other BMP proteins have great potential for medical therapeutic applications, in particular because they allow or at least accelerate the ossification of extensive bone lesions. BMP2 lacks the natural N-terminus which results in a 15-20 fold increase of specific activity. BMP2 is a heparin binding protein.
Catalog #B2553-07C
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml (100ul/well); Detects 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant hBMP-2.
Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml; Detection limit is 1.5-3.0ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Neutralization: 1.3-1.9ug/ml; Yields one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hBMP-2 (200ng/ml).
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
