| Bone morphogenetic protein-7 (BMP-7), also known as osteogenic protein-1, is a member of the TGF- superfamily, and is widely expressed during embryonic development. Like other members of the bone morphogenetic protein family, BMP-7 works synergistically with BMP-2 to play a key role in the differentiation of mesenchymal cells into bone and cartilage tissues by actively recruiting stem cells from the surrounding tissue, thereby initiating the bone formation cascade. In adult cells, BMP-7 is predominately expressed in the brain, kidneys, and bladder. | | | Catalog # | B2553-33Q | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml detected BMP-7 (Pro-peptide) in 10ug of human kidney tissue lysate. | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:200 was used to detect BMP-7 (pro-peptide) in human kidney tissue. Requires Citrate pH6.0 retrieval. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | human kidney tissue or lysate. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
