| Bone Morphgenetic Protein 9 (BMP-9), also known as GDF-2, is a member of the BMP subgroup of the TGF-beta superfamily proteins. BMP-9 regulates the development and function of a variety of embryonal and adult tissues. It also promotes hepatic lipid metabolism and inhibits glucose production. Unlike with other BMP family proteins, the propeptide remains associated with the mature peptide after proteolytic cleavage and does not interfere with BMP-9 biological activity. Mature human and mouse BMP-9 share 96% aa sequence identity. |

| Applications: |
|
| Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. |
|
| Catalog # | B2553-36 |
| Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1ug/ml using recombinant human BMP-9 under non-reducing conditions only |
| ELISA: 2-8ug/ml (Capture); 0.1-0.4ug/ml (Detection) |
| Neutralization of human BMP-9 bioactivity: Measured by its ability to neutralize BMP-9-induced alkaline phosphatase production in the ATDC5 mouse chondrogenic cell line. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.01-0.04ug/ml in the presence of 2ng/ml Recombinant Human BMP-9. |
| Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. |
| Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
