Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto. It is a causative agent of Lyme disease, the most common vector-borne disease in North America and Eurasia. Lyme disease is contracted through a bite from a tick infected with B. burgdorferi. It is an inflammatory disease with a wide range of symptoms, including a rash, arthritis, cardiac and neurological symptoms. Most symptoms respond well to antibiotics, but the use of antibiotics is most successful early in infection. An accurate method for the early diagnosis of Lyme disease is yet to be developed.

HybridomaSp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
