| BRIX (Biogenesis of ribosomes in Xenopus; also BRIX domain-containing protein 2) is a 41kD (predicted) member of the BXDC2 family of proteins. It is found in nucleoli, and appears to participate in the formation of a complex associated with pre-rRNA and enzymes that generate 60S ribosomal subunits. Human BRIX is 353 amino acids in length. It is characterized by the presence of a BRIX domain that lies between aa 60-249. There is one splice variant that shows a 17aa substitution for aa11-27. Over aa131-353, human BRIX shares 93% aa identity with mouse BRIX. | | | Catalog # | B2758-15A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
