| C1 Inhibitor is a plasma protein that plays a pivotal role in the regulation of the early stages of the classical complement pathway and the contact activation pathways. It is a protease inhibitor acting as a competitive substrate for its target enzymes. These cleave a 34 aa peptide, the remainder of the C1 Inhibitor molecule binding to the protease causing irreversible inhibition. C1 inactivator is one of only two known enzymic inhibitors of C1s, the other, nexin I, is far less effective. The mean serum concentration of C1 Inhibitor is 0.2g/L. C1 iInhibitorr consists of a single heavily glocosylated polypeptide chain with a molecule weight of 104kD. | | | Catalog # | C0002-03A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
