| The cadherin gene family encodes calcium-dependent adhesion molecules that promote homophilic interactions among cells. All cadherins are single-pass transmembrane proteins with a variable number of extracellular domains (EC; 110aa long). Classical cadherins consist of five EC domains and a conserved cytoplasmic domain and are divided in type I and type II subgroups. Type I comprises cadherin E, N, P and R. Type II include cadherin-5, -6, -8, -11 and -12. During embryogenesis differential expression of cadherins can drive morphogenesis by stimulating cell aggregation, defining boundaries between groups of cells and promoting cell migration. Cadherin-6 seems to be required for the early aggregation of induced mesenchymal cells and their subsequent conversion to epithlium. |

| Immunocytochemistry: 10ug/ml detects human Cadherin 6 in MG63 human osteosarcoma cells. Cells were fixed with PBS, 4% paraformaldehyde for 20 minutes at RT and blocked with PBS, 10% normal donkey serum, 0.1% Triton X-100, 1% BSA for 45 minutes at RT. After blocking, cells were incubated with diluted C0107-05B for 3 hours at RT followed by donkey anti-sheep lgG at RT for 1 hour. Between each step, cells were washed with PBS, 0.1% BSA. |
| Flow Cytometry: 50ug/ml. 10ul labels 1-2.5x10e5 cells in a total reaction volume 200ul. Tested on MG63 human osteosarcoma cells. |
| Direct ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml. The detection limit is ~1ng/well. |

| Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
