| Cadherins are a family of CA2+ dependent intercellular adhesion molecules that play a central role in controlling morphogenetic movements during development. Their function is regulated by association with the actin cytoskeleton by a complex of cytoplasmic proteins called the catenin (alpha, beta and gamma). Members of the cadherin family include Cadherin 6 (K-Cadherin), P-Cadherin, E-Cadherin (Uvomorulin), N-Cadherin (Neural Cadherin), R-Cadherin, Cadherin 5, L-CAM and EP-Cadherin. | | | Catalog # | C0107-10 | | Epitope | C-terminal | | Positive Control | Tonsil, squamous epithelium | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: 2.5-5ug/ml for 30 min at RT. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Stains human lung small cell carcinoma using peroxidase-conjugate and AEC chromogen. Note membrane staining of tumor cells. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (30-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Chicken | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.2% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide. Also supplied without BSA and sodium azide. See C0107-10X. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal end of chicken N-cadherin. | | Specificity | Recognizes members of the Cadherin family of proteins including E-cadherin, N-cadherin, P-cadherin and R-cadherin. Species crossreactivity: Human, mouse, rat, chicken, dog, monkey, cow and Xenopus. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
