Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified B IH
Cadherins are transmembrane glycoproteins involved in Ca++ dependent cell adhesion (1). The cadherin family, including (E)pithelial-Cadherin, (N)euronal-Cadherin, (P)lacental-Cadherin and (R)etinal-Cadherin, plays an important role in tissue morphogenesis and structure. N-cadherin (136kD) is expressed in nerve cells, developing skeletal muscle, embryonic and mature cardiac muscle cells, and pleural mesothelial cells. Studies have indicated that analysis of E-cadherin and N-cadherin expression may be useful in differentiating pleural mesotheliomas (N-cadherin positive) and lung adenocarcinomas (E-cadherin positive).
