Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Purified E B
Calmyrin is identified as a calcium-binding protein with a molecular weight of ~22kD. Calmyrin displays various properties, including myristoylation, membrane-association, and colocalization with presenilin-2 (PS-2). Functionally, like presenilin, calmyrin causes cell death when overexpressed in HeLa cells. Interestingly, calmyrin coexpresses with PS-2, and induces additive effects in apoptosis. These results indicate diverse roles of calmyrin in cell signaling, cell death and Alzheimer disease through the modulation of presenilin function.
Catalog #C0116-05B
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 0.11ug/ml
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Clone TypeMonoclonal
Clone No6A14
FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide.
PurityPurified by Protein A chromatography
ImmunogenRecombinant Calmyrin protein (full length)
SpecificityReacts with both overexpressed and endogenous Calmyrin protein. On Western blots, this antibody identifies a band at ~22kD. Reactivity has been confirmed with human HeLa cell lysates.
