| Caldesmon is an actin and myosin binding protein. It plays a major role in the regulation of smooth muscle and non-muscle contractile events. At least 5 isoforms are known from alternate splicing. High molecular weight h-caldesmon (isoform 1) of 120-150kD is predominantly expressed in smooth muscles. Lower molecular weight caldesmon l-caldesmon (isoforms 2,3,4 and 5) of 61-70kD is more abundant in non-muscle tissues and cells. This antibody reacts specifically with h-caldesmon | | | Catalog # | C0132-14F | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot . Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1-2 ug/ml | | Immunohistochemistry (formalin, paraffin): 2.0-4.0ug/ml. | | Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
