Calponin is a thin filament associated protein that binds calmodulin, actin and tropomyosin. The multi-gene family of calponins includes calponin 1 (CNN1), 2 (CNN2) and 3 (CNN3). CNN1 is expressed in smooth muscle and tissues containing significant amounts of smooth muscle. This antibody is predicted to detect all three forms of calponin.

Recommended DilutionWestern Blot: 0.25-0.5ug/ml
Immunohistochemistry (formalin and paraffin): 0.5-1.0ug/ml
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS to concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
