| Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily characterized by a structural motif described as the EF-hand domain. The immunohistochemical detection of calretinin in developing cerebellum is restricted to the later stages indicated by weak staining from week 21 of gestation, in Purkinje and basket cells and in neurons of the dentate nucleus. The intensity of staining increases as the cerebellum matures. In tumors, calretinin has been detected in mesotheliomas and some pulmonary adenocarcinomas. | | | Catalog # | C1036-01J | | Applications | Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): (Use Ab 1:100-200 for 30 min) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Excellent for staining of formalin/paraffin. | | Positive Control | Mesothelioma | | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic and nuclear | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Clone No | 5G26 | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | Not determined | | Form | Supplied as a liquid with 0.09% sodium azide. | | Purity | Culture supernatant | | Immunogen | Recombinant full-length mouse calretinin protein. | | Specificity | Recognizes Calretinin.
