Specifications

Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Affinity Purified B
Apoptosis is related to many diseases and development. Cell death signals are transduced by death domain (DD), death effector domain (DED), and caspase recruitment domain (CARD) containing molecules. CARD containing proteins include some caspases, Apaf-1, CARD4, IAPs, RICK, ARC, RAIDD, BCL-10, and ASC. A novel CARDcontaining protein was recently identified and designated CARD8. This protein interacts with DRAL, a p53-responsive protein implicated in the induction of apoptosis (1,2), and caspase-1 and its related proteins ICEBERG and pesudo- ICE (3). Although there are conflicting reports on whether CARD8 acts a pro- or anti-apoptotic protein (2,4), it has been suggested that it functions as an adaptor molecule regulating caspase-1 and NF-£eB activation.
Catalog #C1349-05
ApplicationsCan be used for detection of CARD8 by Western blot at 2ug/ml. K562 cell lysate can be used as a positive control and a band at approximately 45kD can be detected. For research use only.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
