| Cardiotin is a high molecular weight protein complex (300kD) located in the longitudinal SR of cardiomyocytes. The cardiotin structure exists of subunits of 60kD and 100kD. Both subunits contain the same amino-terminal 14 amino acid sequence, showing high homology to human skeletal muscle a-actinin, suggesting that the tetrameric configuration of the cardiotin protein structure is a transmembrane complex with the N-terminus at the cytoplasmic side of the membrane, able to interact with actin. During cardiac contractile dysfunction, a decreased SR activity is detected. The cardiotin distribution is affected in pathological cardiomyocytes i.e. chronic ischemic myocardium. | | | Catalog # | C1384-25 | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgM | | Clone No | 2Q2275 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Liquid in buffer with 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified immunoglobulin. | | Immunogen | 300 kD cardiotin protein | | Specificity | Reacts with cardiotin, a sacroplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum related protein.
