| The catenins (alpha, beta and gamma) are ubiquitously expressed, cytoplasmic proteins that associate with E-cadherin. alpha-catenin can also bind P-cadherin and N-cadherin. alpha-catenin exhibits both actin binding and bundling activities. Cadherin/catenin complexes are linked to the cytoskeleton via a direct association between alpha-actinin and alpha-catenin. Increased tyrosine phosphorylation can disrupt catenin-cadherin complexes, influencing cellular adhesion. | | | Catalog # | C2069-44B | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
