| Plakoglobin is a major cytoplasmic protein which is the only known constituent common to submembranous plaques of both desmosomes and intermediate junctions. This protein forms distinct complexes with cadherins and desmosomal cadherins and is a member of the catenin family since it contains a distinct repeating amino acid motif called the armadillo repeat. Mutation in this gene has been associated with Naxos disease. Alternative splicing occurs in this gene; however, not all transcripts have been fully described. | | | Catalog # | C2069-55A | | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic in a soluble and membrane-associated form. | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in TBS, pH 7.2, 0.5% BSA. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide: GLRPPYPTADHMLA, representing the C-Terminus of the human protein (residues 730-743), according to NP_002221, NP_068831. | | Specificity | Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human.
