Cathepsin B is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that is important for intracellular protein catabolism. Cathepsin B has been implicated in several disease states including muscular dystrophy, rheumatoid arthritis and tumor metastasis.

Applications	Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommnended Dilutions	Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml. Detected both procathepsin B and cathespin B in 20ug of rat kidney microsomal preparation (M3893-27). Rat kidney microsomal preparation was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF and probed with C2097-05. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-rabbit and a chemiluminescence detection system.
	Immunohistochemistry: 10ug/ml positively stained rat kidney and liver sections that had been fixed with ethanol:acetic acid [95:5] for 5 minutes at RT.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
