| Cathepsin L [EC 3.4.22.15] is a lysosomal endopeptidase belonging to the papain family of the closely related cysteine proteases superfamily. The enzyme is ubiquitously distributed in the lysosomes of all cells and seems to be involved in a variety of disorders in which the pathological destruction of the extracellular matrix is one of the main characteristics. | | | Catalog # | C2097-74L | | Applications | | | Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: Capture. | | Immunohistochemistry: paraffin sections after microwave treatment. | | Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 6D234 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS containing 0.01% thimerosal. | | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Purified human procathepsin L (from culture supernatant of non-small cell lung cancer cell line EPLC 32 M1). | | Specificity | Recognizes the epitope aa265-271(GYGFEST) of human procathepsin L. Recognizes mature human single or two chain cathepsin L (heavy chain) and human procathepsin L. Cross-reacts with rat cathepsin L and weakly with mouse procathepsin L. Does not cross-react with mature cathepsins B, H, D, K, S and procathepsins B, D, F, S, W. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
