| CCR1 (C-C chemokine receptor type 1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, expressed by a wide range of cells, which acts as a vital signal transducer for the recruitment of effector immune cells to inflammation sites, and may play a role in the regulation of Th1/Th2 cytokine responses. CCR1 binds to several immunoregulatory chemokines, including MIP-1 alpha (macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha), MIP-1 delta, MCP-3 (monocyte chemoattractant protein 3) and RANTES (regulated on activation normal T expressed and secreted protein).
