| CCR2, or C-C chemokine receptor type 2, is a receptor for several monocyte chemoattractant proteins (MCP1, MCP3, MCP4) which specifically mediate monocyte chemotaxis. CCR2 transduces such signals by increasing the intracellular level of calcium ions. For example, MCP1 is involved in monocyte infiltration in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis as well as in the inflammatory response against tumors. CCR2 is also an alternative coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection. CCR2 has two isoforms and has been reported to be expressed in a wide variety of tissues, including blood, brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, ovary, pancreas, spinal cord, spleen and thymus. | | | Catalog # | C2099-66D | | Cellular Localization | Cell Membrane | | Positive Control | Immunohistochemistry on sections of mouse spleen. | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections) and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) and aliquot. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | ~2mg/ml | | Form | PBS, 1mg/ml BSA | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide: SHSLFTRSIQELDEGATTPYDYDDGEPC, corresponding to N terminal amino acids 18-45 of Mouse CCR2. | | Specificity | Peptide sequence is < 50% identical to other mouse chemokine receptors in this region.
