Chemokine receptors are specialized proteins that function at the surface of cells, and enable chemokines to trigger internal cellular processes. Chemokines and their receptors play a pivotal role in lymphocyte trafficking, recruiting and recirculation. Chemokines act through seven transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors. The chemokine system is increasingly recognized to play an important role in lymphocyte biology.

CCR4 is a chemokine receptor and is preferentially expressed on type 2 helper T (Th2-type) cells. In contrast to other chemokine receptors, the expression of CCR4 and CCR8 on Th2 cells is transiently increased following TCR and CD28 engagement. Moreover, activated Th1 cells up-regulate CCR4 expression and functional responsiveness to thymus- and activation-regulated chemokine.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 1:30,000 Western Blot: 1:500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:200 Flow Cytometry: 1:12 Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to SNYYLYESIPKPCTKEGIKAFGE, aa17-39, from human CCR4 extracellular domain.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 1mg/ml BSA, 0.09% sodium azide.
