| CKR5, or C-C chemokine receptor type 5, is a G protein-coupled, seven-transmembrane domain receptor protein. It has been found to be the receptor for MIP-1-alpha, MIP-1-beta and RANTES (1,2), and functions to transduce a signal by increasing the intracellular calcium ions level. Entry of HIV-1 into target cells requires cell-surface CD4 and additional host cell cofactors. It has been determined that CKR5 serves as the principal cofactor for entry of primary macrophage-tropic strains of HIV-1 into cells (3). | | | Catalog # | C2099-97H | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot.
