| CCR5(CC chemokine receptor 5; also CD195 and MIP1a receptor)is a 4144kD member of the Gprotein coupled receptor #1 family of proteins. It is expressed on Treg cells, NK cells, neurons,macrophages and Th1 cells. CCR5 mediates cell adhesion and migration induced by several chemokines including CCL3/MIP1a, CCL4/MIP1b, CCL5/RANTES, and CCL8/MCP2. It also functions as a coreceptor for macrophagetropic HIV1 infection.
