| CCR8 is one of the chemokine receptors that are required as coreceptors for HIV infection. The genes encoding human and murine CCR8 were cloned and designated TER1, CKR-L1, and ChemR1 (1-4). The encoded seven transmembrane protein was identified as the receptor for human CC chemokine I-309 and renamed CCR8. Recently, CCR8 was found to serve as a coreceptor for diverse T-cell tropic, dual-tropic and macrophage-tropic HIV-1 strains (5). CCR8 mediates CC chemokine I-309 induced monocyte chemoattraction and HIV-1 envelope fusion and virus infection, which can be prevented by the CCR8 ligand I-309. CCR8 is expressed in spleen, thymus and T lymphoblastic cell lines. | | | Catalog # | C2100 | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:500-1:1,000 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Human spleen tissue lysate | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | 0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Peptide corresponding to amino acids 183 to 201 of human CCR8, which locate in the second extracellular loop (1-3). | | Specificity | Recognizes human CCR8 (TER1, CKR-L1, ChemR1, Chemokine Receptor 8, CC-CKR-8).
