Specifications Clone Host Grade Applications Monoclonal Mouse Purified IP IH FC CD21, an antigen with MW:150kD. CD21 is also known as CR2, complement receptor 2, Epstein Barr virus receptor (EBV-R) and C3d receptor. CD21 is expressed by certain B cells, follicular dendritic cells and a subset of immature thymocytes. CD21 serves as the receptor C3d, C3g and iC3band also as the receptor for Epstein Barr virus. CD21 is expressed on all mature circulating B lymphocytes but not on T lymphocytes or natural killer cells.1 Low density CD21 has also been reported on granulocytes and monocytes. This antibody stains the following percentages of surface immunoglobulin (sIg) positive cells in porcine lymphoid tissues: 92-96% in peripheral blood; 74-98% in mesenteric lymph nodes; 97-100% in ileal Peyer’s patches (ILPP); 93-97% in spleen; and 0% in thymus.2 The antibody does not stain B cells in cord blood or spleen from porcine fetuses (105 days gestation). 2 Catalog # C2272-54C Applications • Flow cytometry 2 • Immunohistochemistry (acetone-fixed, frozen tissue sections only) 2 • Immunoprecipitation 2 Recommended Dilution Flow Cytometry: 0.2ug/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
