| CD21, an antigen with MW:150kD. CD21 is also known as CR2, complement receptor 2, Epstein Barr virus receptor (EBV-R) and C3d receptor. CD21 is expressed by certain B cells, follicular dendritic cells and a subset of immature thymocytes. CD21 serves as the receptor C3d, C3g and iC3band also as the receptor for Epstein Barr virus. CD21 is expressed on all mature circulating B lymphocytes but not on T lymphocytes or natural killer cells.1 Low density CD21 has also been reported on granulocytes and monocytes. | | | Catalog # | C2272-54C | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Flow Cytometry: 0.2ug/10e6 cells | | Immunohistochemistry: acetone-fixed, frozen tissue sections only | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months at 4°C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light. | | CAS Number | N/A | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1,k | | Clone No | 5K109 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Porcine | | Concentration | ~0.1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, sodium azide and a stabilizing agent. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE). | | Purity | Purified | | Specificity | Recognizes porcine CD21, Mr 160kD. Stains the following percentages of surface immunoglobulin (sIg) positive cells in porcine lymphoid tissues: 92-96% in peripheral blood; 74-98% in mesenteric lymph nodes; 97-100% in ileal Peyer’s patches (ILPP); 93-97% in spleen; and 0% in thymus. Does not stain B cells in cord blood or spleen from porcine fetuses (105 days gestation). | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
