CD31 (PECAM-1, Platelet gpIIa Molecule) is a 130-140kD type I intergral membrance glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. CD31 is constitutively expressed on the surface of endothelial cells where it is concentrated at cell junctoins. CD31 is also expressed at low levels on all leukocytes and platelets. Homotypic interaction of CD31 is impotant in cell-cell interaction, cell-matrix interaction and signal transduction.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Blocking and Inhibition. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionFlow Cytometry: 1ug labels 10e6 cells in 100ul.
Immunohistochemistry: Acetone fixation on frozen tissue.
Inhibition: Inhibits the aggregation of L cells transfected with a variant form of CD31.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
