Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Purified IH IC FC IF
The antibody precipitates a complex of molecular weights 122kD and 112kD when reduced and 87kD and 140kD when not reduced (1). The IIb-IIIa complex is a member of the integrin superfamily of adhesive receptors and mediates platelet-platelet aggregation. This complex recognizes the Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) tripeptide sequence in adhesive glycoproteins such as fibronectin, fibrinogen and von Willebrand Factor thereby facilitating linkage between adjacent platelets. This antibody is useful in biochemical studies of the Glycoprotein IIb-IIIa complex and the enumeration of platelets. The antibody specifically inhibits ADP and collagen induced aggregation and release of ATP, and ADP induced platelet fibrinogen binding1. The antibody may also be used for immunoperoxidase staining of formalin fixed cell suspensions and frozen tissue sections.
