The a3 subunit, also known as CD49c and VLA-3 a subunit, forms a non-covalent heterodimer with the Integrin b1 subunit (CD29). Integrin a3b1 is a receptor for laminin, fibronectin, collagen, epiligrin, and thrombospondin.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Inhibition of Cell Attachment, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionInhibition of Cell Attachment: Inhibits SCC9 cell adhesion to human and EHS laminin, and laminin GD-2 peptide. Potentiates inhibition of SKOV-3 cell adhesion to EHS laminin by anti-integrin alpha 5 antibody GoH3. Does not inhibit cell adhesion to fibronectin or collagen type IV.
Flow Cytometry: Stains human squamous cell carcinoma (SCC9), ovarian carcinoma (SKOV-3) and umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC).
Immunohistochemistry: On acetone-fixed frozen human epithelial tissues including tongue, foreskin and ovary. Not for use on formalin-fixed tissue.
Immunoprecipitation: Precipitates PAGE bands of 130kD (reduced) or 116kD and 135kD (non-reduced) from surface-biotinylated SCC9 or SKOV-3 cells.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
