CD104 is the 210kD integrin beta4 subunit which forms a heterodimer with the integrin alpha6 subunit (CD49f) that is expressed on the hemidesmosomes of stratified epithelia, and on simple epithelia and Schwann cells. Hemidesmosomal CD49f/CD104 (alpha6beta4) plays an important role in the adhesion of epithelia to basement membranes, via interactions with laminin and/or kalinin anchoring filaments.1-4

Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: 1-5ug/ml

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
