| Using anti-Yo antibodies, three genes have been cloned (CDR 1-3). CDR2 Cerebellar degeneration related protein 2) suppresses the transcriptional activity and DNA binding of nuclear factor-kappa B by an unknown mechanism. The neuron specific expression of CDR2 is regulated by a post-transcriptional mechanism. | | | Catalog # | C2581-01B | | CDR2 is an onconeuronal antigen; i.e. an antigen that is expressed by systemic tumors and elicits an immune response that may develop into an autoimmune neuronal degeneration. Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) is a disorder in which breast or ovarian tumors express CDR2, which normally is expressed in cerebellar Purkinje neurons | | Applications | Suitable for ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other Applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Wester Blot: 2ug/ml; Positive Control: HeLa whole cell lysates. A band is seen at ~51kD. | | Immunohistochemistry: 5-10ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as liquid in Tris-citrate/phosphate, pH 7- 8, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide made to a C-terminal region of the human CDR2. | | Specificity | Recognizes human CDR2 Species Crossreactivity: Bovine, mouse, primate. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
