| CDNF is a neutrophic factor for dopaminergic neurons. Studies have demonstrated that CDNF can prevent the 6-hydroxylamine (6-OHDA)-induced degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in a rat model of Parkinson’s disease. Additionally CDNF has been shown to restore the dopaminergic function and prevent the degeneration of dopaminergic neurones in the substantia nigra, suggesting that CDNF may have potential in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. | | | Catalog # | C2795-50 | | CDNF exists in at least two known isoforms and is widely expressed in both neuronal and non-neuronal tissues. Within the brain, highest expression is observed in the optic nerve and corpus callosum. | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A 9aa peptide located near the carboxy terminus of human CDNF. | | Specificity | Recognizes human CDNF. Species Crossreactivity: mouse and rat. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
