| The TRPM7 (Transient Receptor Protein-PhosphoLipase C-Interacting Kinase) protein is a member of the ion channel proteins. It regulates the calcium concentration in cells, which is imperative for such functions as muscle contractions and neuronal firing. TRPM7, however, is unique among the TRP channel proteins because it is bi-functional. It not only controls ion channels but it also acts as a kinase, phosphorylating proteins. | | | Catalog # | C3445-26A | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Rat | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | As reported | | Purity | Serum | | Immunogen | A synthetic peptide made to the C-terminal region of rat TRPM7. | | Specificity | Specific for TRPM7. Recognizes overexpressed human TRPM7. It does not appear to recognize overexpressed mouse TRPM7. It does not work on endogenous samples tested for western analysis (human, rat and mouse cell lines). Other species have not been tested. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | CHAK, Homolog of mouse transient receptor potential-phospholipase C-interacting kinase, LTRPC ion channel family member 7, Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 7 |
