Chemerin, also known as TIG2, is a distant member of the cystatin superfamily. The chemerin precursor is cleaved by multiple serine proteases at various sites near the C-terminus. Mature active chemerin is a 15-16kD heparin binding protein that induces immature dendritic cell and macrophage chemotaxis through interactions with ChemR23.

Applications	Suitable for use in Western Blot, Neutralization and ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Western Blot: 1ug/ml detects Chemerin in recombinant mouse Chemerin under non-reducing conditions.
	Neutralization: 1-5ug/ml in the presence of 100ng/ml of recombinant mouse Chemerin. Measured by its ability to neutralize Chemerin-induced chemotaxis in the BaF3 mouse pro-B cell line transfected with human Chem R23.
	Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.
Hybridoma	Mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a rat immunized with purified, E. coli-derived, recombinant mouse Chemerin (rmChemerin; aa17-156; Accession # NP_082128).
Storage and Stability	Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
