Chlamydia trachomatis, an obligate intracellular human pathogen, is one of three bacterial species in the genus Chlamydia. C. trachomatis is a Gram-negative bacteria, therefore its cell wall components retain the counter-stain safranin and appear pink under a light microscope. In humans both sexes can display urethritis, proctitis (rectal disease and bleeding), trachoma, and infertility following infection with Chlamydia trachomatis.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended DilutionsIFA (Direct): 1:20-1:100
IFA (Indirect): 1:500
Immunohistochemistry: Acetone fixation is recommended.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
