| Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, also known as nAChRs, belong to a family of proteins called ligand gated ion channels and are widely expressed throughout the nervous system. nAChRs are made up of 5 subunits (two alpha and three beta). Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor a5 has an ax ay beta combination.
