| HCG is a glycoprotein, which is secreted in large quantities by normal trophoblasts. It is present only in trace amounts in non-pregnant urine and sera but rises sharply during pregnancy. HCG is composed of two non-identical, non-covalently linked polypeptide chains designated as the a and b subunits. The a subunit is identical to that of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). | | | Catalog # | C5069-13A | | Applications | Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): (Ab at 1:25 for 30 min) Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. | | Positive Control | Placenta | | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 5G123 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.2mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM PBS, pH 7.6, 0.2% BSA and 15mM sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Human HCG beta. | | Specificity | Specific to hCG beta subunit.
