Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Purified IH
The chromogranins (A, B, and C) are major components of dense core granules of neuroendocrine cells and sympathetic nerves. They constitute a widely distributed family of acidic soluble proteins which range in molecular weight from 76-120kD. Each polypeptide subunit shares the some sequence homology. Polyclonal chromogranin A antibody is useful in the identification of neuroepthelial and neuroendocrine differentiation in neoplastic cells. It may be used with other neuroendocrine markers such as NSE, MOC-32, CD56, and synaptophysin to improve the tumor diagnosis.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Clone TypePolyclonal
FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide.
ImmunogenPurified Chromogranin A from human tissue with carcinoid syndrome. Expected Staining Pattern: Cytoplasmic.
SpecificityRecognizes human Chromogranin A fragments located at the C-terminal half, but not with fragments located at the N terminal half of the polypeptide. Recacts with Chromogranin A, which is present in the secretory vesicles of neuroendocrine cells such as in pancreas, adrenal medulla, pituitary, and thyroid.
