| Chromogranin A is a precursor for the functional peptides pancreastatin, vasostatin, parastatin and catestatin, which act as negative modulators of hormone and neurotransmitter release in the neuroendocrine system. The measurement of elevated serum levels of chromogranin A is used diagnostically for detecting and monitoring carcinoid (neuroendocrine) tumors, and correlates with a poor prognosis in patients with prostate cancer. | | | Catalog # | C5069-96Q | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
