Catalog #C5073-06B
SourceRecombinant corresponding to 200aa from human Ciliary Neurotropic Factor expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Weight~22.9kD
ActivityED50 <2.0ng/ml (> 5 x 10e5 units/mg). The biological activity was determined by measuring the dose-dependent proliferation of human TF-a cells. Ciliary Neurotropic Factor (CNTF), also known as Membrane-Associated Neurotransmitter Stimulating Factor (MANS), is produced by Schwann cells in peripheral nervous tissue and astrocytes in the central nervous system. Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor promotes the growth and survival of many neural derived cells including parasympathetic, sympathetic, sensory and spinal motor neurons and chick ciliary neurons in vitro.
Endotoxin <0.1 ng/ug
