Clathrin consists of three heavy chains (192kD) and three light chains (LCa or LCb, 25-29kD). It self-assembles into a polyhedral cytoskeletal element. Self-assembly facilitates clathrin’s central role in membrane sorting and selective transport within the cell.

Applications	Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunoprecipitation (Denatured verified): 2ug/mg protein using Protein A.
	Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT
	Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT. Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
