| Catalog # | C7506-10D | | Cofilin belongs to the actin-binding protein ADF family and it contains 1 ADF-H domain. Cofilin controls reversible actin polymerization and depolymerization in a pH-sensitive manner. It has the ability to bind G- and F-actin at a 1 | 1 ratio. It is the major component of intranuclear and cytoplasmic actin rods. It is involved in the translocation of the actin-cofilin complex from cytoplasm to nucleus. This protein is widely distributed in various tissues. | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 0.05-0.2ug/ml | | Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml | | Immunohistochemistry: 5-10ug/ml | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide from amino terminal of human cofilin protein (Swiss Prot: P23528). | | Specificity | Recognizes endogenous levels of human and mouse cofilin protein. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
