Type VII collagen is a newly characterized collagen which appears to be the major component of the anchoring fibril.

This antibody is useful in differentiating invasive from non-invasive melanoma through clear visualization of appearance and integrity of epidermal basement membrane. Ab-1 is also helpful in the identification of recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB) in which Type VII collagen is defective.
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Electron Microscopy, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunohistochemistry: Acetone-fixed frozen only. Not suitable for use with methanol fixation.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
