Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B IH
The antibody allows demonstration of C3 deposition in the tissue or on cells. It should be used in combination with an additional antibody to the C3 alpha chain (positive control) and an antibody to a determinant on C3a (negative control). Activated, deposited C3b bears the C3b alpha-chain and beta-chain determinants but no longer the C3a determinants, whereas ubiquitous or non-specifically absorbed C3 is still C3a-positive.
Catalog #C7850-14

SpecificityRecognizes a determinant present on native human (circulating) C3 and on the fragments C3b and C3c. The antibody is directed to a determinant present on the beta-chain of the C3-molecule as determined by Western Blot. Does not crossreact with anaphylatoxin C3a or fragment C3d. Does not inhibit the hemolytic function of C3.
