C3 consists of two polypeptide chains, an alpha chain and a beta chain. It is the pivotal protein of the complement system, being central in the classical pathway and the alternative pathway. C3 is cleaved by the classical pathway convertaseAs reported C4b2a and the alternative pathway convertase C3bBb, into C3b and C3a. C3c is formed as a result of inactivation of C3b by Factor 1 and other cofactors.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
